<h3>Who We Are</h3><p>The Clean Fight is a not-for-profit dedicated to accelerating the equitable adoption of climate solutions in New York State and beyond. Given that many of the technologies we need to solve the climate crisis already exist, it’s imperative that we ensure they are adopted quickly, equitably, and at scale. To enable this adoption, The Clean Fight designs and implements different models of adoption to identify and share the actionable strategies that can lead to the rapid deployment of decarbonization solutions, for all. By focusing the world’s best innovators on this issue, combined with the involvement of New York's leading real estate players as demonstration partners, we hope not only to collapse the time to market for these crucial technologies, but to provide a blueprint for other markets in the US and globally to do the same. </p><p>Our latest program, the <a href="https://thecleanfight.com/programs/capital-challenge">Energy Storage Capital Challenge</a>, is designed to support innovative energy storage projects in need of capital to advance their deployment in New York State. This is a pivotal time for energy storage innovation in New York, with unprecedented Federal and State incentives, policy, and funding to support the deployment of projects. However, significant obstacles exist for innovators and developers to successfully deploy in New York’s unique market. The Energy Storage Capital Challenge is focused on one key need: Aligning capital to accelerate innovative energy storage projects.</p><p>We are supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and New Energy New York (NENY). And we are having fun doing it.</p><h3>​​The Role</h3><p>We are searching for a Business Development Director who will develop new commercial relationships with public power utilities and electric cooperatives. This role will play a pivotal part in growing Camus’ revenue and impact within the public power sector – building on the company’s success to date.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><p>As a Director of Business Development, you will:</p><ul><li>Develop new qualified leads at industry trade shows and conferences</li><li>Contact and qualify Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) within the public power sector, assessing their unmet needs, willingness to spend, and budget authority</li><li>Introduce Camus’ grid orchestration software, with support from sales engineers, and nurture interest in and consideration of our solution</li><li>Develop and execute account plans for target accounts</li><li>Author and present sales proposals to qualified opportunities</li><li>Close deals, with support from the Vice President of Business Development</li><li>Ensure the CRM remains updated and functional, creating reports and sharing funnel updates and next steps with the extended Camus commercial team</li><li>Contribute to the development of new sales presentations and materials</li><li>Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure a smooth transition from closed deal to happy customer</li><li>Experience selling to or working within electric utilities is a must-have. Business Development Director

<p><span style="font-size:14pt;"><strong>The Company</strong></span></p><p><span style="font-weight:400;">In order to keep climate change to 1.5°C, we’ll need 30% of global GDP to run on batteries by 2035. We’ll need to electrify entire core infrastructures, decarbonizing transportation and energy generation writ large.</span></p><p>Zitara Technologies (YCombinator S20) builds battery design and management software for transportation and energy companies with large deployments. Their customers operate &gt;$100M deployments of batteries in satellites, EVs, and renewable energy storage installations. Zitara recently closed a $12M Series A.</p><p><strong><span style="font-size:14pt;">The Role</span></strong></p><p>We are looking for a “full-funnel” sales engineer who will grow Zitara’s customer base by acquiring new prospective customer leads, developing their interest and engagement with Zitara’s offerings, and driving deals to completion.</p><p>This role requires a deep understanding of prospective customer needs across a diverse set of energy storage applications in order to effectively communicate value and close deals. While a technical background is not required, the candidate must be capable of thoroughly understanding technical concepts related to battery systems design and management, and fluently communicating about them with prospective customers up and down their org charts.</p><p>This is an opportunity and a challenge to grow together with a young and promising start-up in a small, tightly-knit sales organization engaging with an exciting new industry.
