On the accounting side, the FC will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and conducting the monthly close such as preparing and reviewing journal entries and preparing and reviewing monthly reconciliations.  On the financial reporting side, the FC will ensure recorded financial data is complete and accurate, and transactions are recorded on time, and within the rules set by our company policy and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). When there’s a discrepancy in the books, the FC will spot it, figure out what happened, and follow up with stakeholders. Additionally, the FC will have the responsibility of overseeing the financial statement production on a monthly basis, general ledger management and ensuring that the chart of accounts is appropriate and cost allocations, and tax compliance as it relates to Federal, B&amp;O, excise, state and local taxes. Key responsibilities for the role include:</p><ul><li>Working closely with the delivery team and product leads in the UK to design solutions that meet our local client needs and align with Kaluza’s product direction</li><li>Being the ‘in the room’ presence to lead conversations around product direction and decision making; supported by  product leads.</li><li>Being a Kaluza on the ground expert advisor to the key client stakeholders  - shaping and influencing their roadmaps and planned propositions</li><li>Ensuring the our stakeholders and Kaluza internal teams remain on track and removing any friction around what should be delivered and how</li><li>Building relationships across key client stakeholders to promote Kaluza’s work and sell our vision</li><li>Being the key ‘bridge’ back to the core product and delivery teams in the UK</li><li>Assisting the product teams with any Australia specific knowledge and insights to inform product development</li><li>Developing a backlog of future client requests that can be federated to various product teams in the future.</li></ul><p><strong>Is this the job for me?</strong></p><p>Ideally you’ll have/be</p><ul><li>Experience in the residential DER and flexibility space (EVs, batteries, solar, home energy management)</li><li>Experience working with energy retailers</li><li>Knowledge of the Australian energy market</li><li>Ability to clearly communicate complex problems and articulate client needs to Product and Tech teams</li><li>Proactive in driving discussions to reach alignment with the client / searching resolutions to any blockers for delivery and scoping activities</li><li>Experience/comfortable working across Australia / UK time zones when needed</li></ul><p><strong>Kaluza Values</strong></p><p>Here at Kaluza we have five core values that guide us as a business: </p><p><strong>We’re on a mission, We build together, We’re inclusive, We get it done, We communicate with purpose.</strong></p><p>Our values are not words on a wall — they are at the heart of our culture.
