<p>The Sheet Metal Lead will play a critical role in building and scaling Dandelion’s heat pump installation operations in New York! You will be the sheet metal technical lead in the office, responsible for solving a variety of project specific design and installation challenges to improve volume, speed, and quality. You will focus on the pipeline of projects between signed contract and commissioned system, bringing a motivating attitude to help each project move along a little faster. You will be expected to contribute collaboratively as part of a small team, as well as work independently with minimal oversight and be a subject matter expert within Sheet Metal. You will deliver solutions quickly, adapt to changing business needs, and demonstrate a growth mindset. <p>The Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting a thriving, affordable, and accessible clean energy economy by providing financial and technical resources to Nevadans. NCEF was created in 2017 to accelerate clean energy growth in Nevada, reduce energy costs, create jobs, and meaningfully address climate change. <p>As the Community Engagement Manager, you will join in NCEF&rsquo;s efforts to make clean energy accessible to all Nevadans. In this role, you will develop and implement NCEF&rsquo;s community engagement strategy and strategic communications initiatives, including managing external communications related to NCEF&rsquo;s programming, planning and implementing community events, and coordinating diverse stakeholder input. This means two things: slash global emissions from 60 gigaton annual to near zero, and remove CO2 from the atmosphere on a multi gigaton scale.</span></p>

<p class="notion-text__content"><span class="notion-semantic-string">The last IPCC report estimates that 5 to 16 gigaton of CDR will be required each year after 2050 to keep global temperature increase as close to 1.5&deg;C as possible. Reaching such levels in just a few decades is a herculean feat and will require many approaches.</span></p>

<p class="notion-text__content"><span class="notion-semantic-string">Direct Air Capture is compelling due to is low physical footprint, flexible siting near CO2 storage and clean energy, and straightforward measurement. On the demand side, DAC benefits from massive tailwinds, such as a $3.5 billion scale up funding in the US, a first billion $ acquisition, and a fast growing market for CDR credits and carbon negative products (e.g. concrete).</span></p>

<p class="notion-text__content"><span class="notion-semantic-string">However, first generation DAC technologies are very energy intensive due to the work required to separate CO2 from the sorbent. Current systems use 1,500 to 3,000 kWh per ton of CO2 - which is 10x to 20x higher than the theoretical minimum. At gigaton scale, such systems would require between 1/3 and 3/4 of the annual US power consumption.</span></p>

<p class="notion-text__content"><span class="notion-semantic-string">We are hiring a Principal (Venture Scientist) to play a leading role in selecting areas for new venture creation, sourcing top founders in residence, developing high impact climate companies with strong technical differentiation, and supporting Marble companies.</span></p>

<p class="notion-text__content"><span class="notion-semantic-string">The Principal role involves end-to-end responsibility across the board:</span></p>

<li id="block-5c6864f2fb3f4c2c98dfc9d565cb17cb" class="notion-list-item"><span class="notion-semantic-string"><strong>Research. </strong>You will lead the development of multiple climate tech opportunity theses based on thorough market and technical research, to prioritise white spaces where Marble should create new companies, and focus talent sourcing accordingly.</span></li>
<li id="block-240cda531e984aa0bbe722a4a203f590" class="notion-list-item"><span class="notion-semantic-string"><strong>Sourcing.</strong> You will proactively source top talent with high founder potential and relevant domain expertise to create companies with Marble. You will work collaboratively with the whole team to recruit excellent Founders in Residence for each cohort.</span></li>
<li id="block-9cf773183c084b11a83fbc5f7c6d5824" class="notion-list-item"><span class="notion-semantic-string"><strong>Venture Creation.</strong> You will guide the venture creation process by supporting founders throughout the programme, ensuring robust diligence (science, engineering, market, TEA, IP, team, roadmap, risks, financials, etc) and making investment recommendations.</span></li>
<li id="block-e35273e0680e49558e8e1a9c03fa545f" class="notion-list-item"><span class="notion-semantic-string"><strong>Portfolio Support. </strong>You will support Partners to maximise the success of Marble companies after spinout, helping with follow-on fundraise, non dilutive funding, industry connections, hiring plans, lab access, IP, etc. You will play a key role in developing our network of top investors across the climate capital stack.</span></li>

Examples include content creation (articles, decks) for external comms and internal memos, legals, ecosystem relations, representing Marble at key events, as well as special projects, such as working with Partners on the future of Marble (e.g. our next investment vehicle).</span></p>

<li id="block-de34ac11b0404ecf95dcfaadffeef4c1" class="notion-list-item"><span class="notion-semantic-string">You have 3+ years of experience in early stage investing or venture creation in deep tech. Additional exposure to industrial scale up or applied science is a plus.</span></li>
<li id="block-0556f970b34141c9ae36553338a4bd79" class="notion-list-item"><span class="notion-semantic-string">You have a track record in evaluating (e.g. deep dives, industry analysis, market maps) climate technologies across multiples sectors, e.g. clean energy, industrial decarbonisation, carbon removal, critical minerals, agriculture, adaptation.</span></li>

You know how to identify, approach, evaluate, and convince the top 0.1% people in a target domain &mdash; even before they have a company.</span></li>
