My interest in human health came into play during high school, when I took anatomy and physiology. The most recent development has been my passion for public health as I have come to understand how crucial it is to fight for equity in health. While my love for environmental health has been on the backburner for several years, I am ready to reclaim my devotion. As a current Public Health Graduate Student, interested specifically in environmental health, I have been looking for greater opportunities to learn about and become an advocate in this field. My passion for environmental health and sustainability extends beyond my formal education. In my current Climate Change and Health course we completed personal audits of our greenhouse gas emissions. My GHG emissions were less than half of the national average, which displays my devotion to incorporating sustainability into my personal life. The importance of environmental health has been clear to me from a young age and my desire to create a more sustainable and safe society has certainly grown from my current studies. Through my educational experiences, I have developed extensive problems solving, writing, and communication skills. However, I feel as though there is much more for me to learn regarding environmental health and sustainability. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to read and discuss external books and articles regarding environmental health, technology, and policy. My prior research positions have enabled me to become proficient in data management, literature evaluation, organization, and quick learning. While my work has been primarily independent, I am motivated most by my passions for working with people and environmental health . Through my undergraduate extracurriculars, I effectively collaborated with and led my peers to create meaningful change.  I am looking for an opportunity that will allow me to refocus my energy from human health-centered research to environmental health-centered action. I am excited to develop new skills and utilize my assets in order to contribute to a company that emphasizes environmental health, sustainability, and equity.
