We are looking for an associate scientist to join our team. You will play a key role in our product development program by identifying, developing, and implementing a wide range of analytical, physio-chemical, and organoleptic test methods for monitoring process stability and product quality. 

You Will

  • Partner with Quality, Product Development, and Manufacturing to assess product testing needs and develop appropriate testing methodologies
  • Validate your test methods against real world consumer and customer applications by using consumer sensory testing, consumer i-HUTs, and shipping and abuse tests to assess packaging performance
  • Develop recommendations for new product specifications and UCL and LCL for process monitoring and product release decisions
  • Follow the latest scientific literature and assess commercially available QC test equipment and services
  • Advise and train others on methods and techniques you have developed
  • Coordinate cross functional efforts, organize meetings, and facilitate knowledge transfer and decision making across functions (R&D, Product Development and Business functions)
  • Up to 30% travel may be required
  • Other duties as assigned

You Have

  • MS/Ph.D. in Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar field
  • 5 - 7 years experience developing multiple test methods
  • Highly competent with design of complex experiments and associated data analysis
  • Working knowledge of food product development
  • Strong problem solver with extensive use of the scientific method as well as creative problem solving and experimental design
  • Self-starter that is naturally curious and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized and high attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
