Manage international freight, ensure carrier/freight forwarder service level adherence, financial performance and invoice auditing. Forecast requirements and cost drivers in anticipation of market changes
You Will
- Coordinate of all inbound and outbound international freight.
- Communicate with Customs authorities and Customs Brokers as needed.
- Create and send load tenders to freight forwarders.
- Perform RFPs with freight forwarders and/or custom brokers.
- Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Track on-time performance to ensure internal targets are achieved.
- Verify and troubleshoot any issues in shipping or customs documentation including, but not limited to commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, PODs, BOL and carrier confirmation.
- Advise on required incoterms for international inbound and outbound shipments
- Audit and process freight invoice.
- Ad hoc shipment support for internal customers.
You Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Global Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Import and Export or similar field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in global logistics.
- Demonstrated knowledge of international business practices, transportation laws and global import/export regulations.
- Working experience with international 3PL partners required.
- Understanding of Customs regulations in the EU, US, Latin America and Asia.
- Experience in all modes of transportation (LTL/FTL, intermodal, maritime, air)
- Experience creating/preparing foreign freight documentation.
- Experience in managing international freight forwarders.
- Experience with temperature controlled / perishable supply chain preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems required.
- Analytical with moderate MS Excel skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Self-starter/learner that can drive cross-functional projects.
- Commitment to process improvement.
- Experience and ability to work independently as a member of a virtual team.
