Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

This role sits within our Energy Solutions sales and commercial team, helping facilitate delivery of  the Government initiative, the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme. The aim of the scheme is to help reduce carbon emissions and help tackle fuel poverty, helping our customers’ homes become as energy efficient as possible.

Your role is to identify eligible customers, ensure they are fully aware of the customer journey and requirements, seeing the project through from start to finish.

What will I be doing?

The main purpose of this role is to engage with each residential customer and ensure they are fully briefed with the project nature, scope and associated timescales. You will be responsible for all customer sign-up activity including landlord engagement by means of home visits, community events, electronic data collection and occasion regional seminar/exhibitions.

As part of this role you will be required to maintain and log customer details within each project tracker, upload completed documents and ensure all assurance/compliance log and checks have been recorded.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating and complete customer contracts and assembling contract packs within a specific time period for customers across the UK - this is subject to change project by project
  • Supporting the Energy Company Obligation submission team
  • Assisting Commercial and Operations functions to ensure the same high level customer journey and customer expectations are met
  • Working closely with the Sales Administrator and Technical Sales Advisor to arrange community engagement events
  • Attending community engagement events and keeping a record of signed contracts/interested customers
  • Issuing approved literature to customers in coordination with local authorities and housing associations

Is this the job for me?

Life at OVO can be quite fast-paced, where change happens quickly and so you’re comfortable dealing with ambiguity. You thrive on challenges and making a difference for our customers - our customers are at the heart of what we do, so we’re looking for somebody with a passion for providing the best service possible for customers.

You will have previous experience in a customer liaison role, similar to that of a Tenant Liaison Officer. You’re confident at ensuring dealings with customers and use of data is fair and compliant, with proven understanding of the Data Protection Act. An understanding of Energy Company Obligation would be a plus but isn’t crucial.

Ideally you will:

  • Be a strong communicator with the ability to tailor your approach to each individual customer
  • Have an understanding of public sector engagement
  • Be confident using different technology systems - we use Google suite here
  • Be comfortable managing and prioritising your own workload - you’ve got outstanding organisational/time management skills!
  • Be detail-orientated with a proactive, positive and solutions orientated approach - you’re a natural problem solver.

The energy sector is dynamic and can be complex; there is a lot to learn, so it’s a huge plus if you’re a quick learner and able to retain a wealth of information.

From us you’ll get*

  • An annual discretionary bonus
  • 5% matched employer contribution to your pension
  • 25 days holiday + 1 for your birthday
  • And many more...

(*) Please note that certain benefits kick-in once you have passed probation which can be up to 6 months after your start date.
