Where in the world of OVO will I be working? 

You will be working as part of the People team, reporting into the Kaluza People Director. We help people to connect to and be inspired by our purpose, share in our values and become advocates of our mission to drive progress towards net zero carbon living.

 

What will I be doing?

Your role will be responsible for designing and delivering a proactive, progressive company engagement strategy to help us become the leading place to work in the UK. You will be part of the Kaluza People Team.

 

  • Build the engagement and internal communications function, including the development of Kaluza’s intranet
  • Develop and deliver the engagement and communications strategy for Kaluza, working closely with the external comms team
  • Drive engagement aligned to Kaluza’s strategic business priorities
  • Become a trusted adviser to the Kaluza leadership team, building rapport, taking briefs, and helping them deliver effective leader-led communications that facilitate two-way engagement with our people. 
  • Set and execute a community strategy to enable people in cross-functional teams to stay connected.
  • Help communities to define their mission and develop it over time as the communities scale
  • Organise and continuously improve things like our 'Town Halls', onboarding journeys for new starters
  • Develop and build relationships across functions to bring to life and execute events, like including hackathons
  • Be proactive in seeking out new opportunities to bring communities of interest, practise and purpose together

 

Is this the job for me? 

This is a fast paced changing environment and we need a serious self-starter. This person for this job will be level headed, respected by all they work with and enthusiastic in the face of a challenge. 

Ideally you will:

  • Have solid experience in Engagement & Internal Communications
  • Be an engaging, creative and confident communicator and facilitator
  • Have an adaptable interpersonal and influencing style with significant experience liaising with extended leadership teams
  • Have a proven track record of dealing with significant periods of change and shaping the internal narrative around this
  • Know how to ask the right questions, gather intel from the business to craft engagement strategies and narratives that inform and inspire our people, and measure outputs to capture campaign success. 
  • Be able to see the bigger picture, whilst being happy to roll your sleeves up to get the job done
  • Be proactive, flexible and positive in a changing fast-paced environment
  • Have experience organising or running large technology events or meet ups 
  • Have a can do attitude, the ability to make sense of complex challenges the drive and enthusiasm to maintain momentum 
  • Be willing to travel to other UK offices (and European offices when required)
