CET is searching for an experienced Staff Accountant and Billing Specialist to provide accounting support for all areas of the fiscal department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting. Your responsibilities will include responding to internal and external customer requests for the fiscal department, and keeping accurate and correct financial records for CET. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt, remote position. CET will provide you with a laptop and other office technology. 


You’re a great fit for the Staff Accountant and Billing Specialist role if you can:


  • Process invoices, expense reimbursements, and vendor payments.
  • Resolve discrepancies and respond to customer inquiries as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, inventory, general ledger entries and payroll data. 
  • Monitor and reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
  • Ensure accuracy in data entry and all invoices and payment requests.
  • Assist as needed in preparing for audits and financial reviews, and with payroll processing, including timekeeping and employee benefit administration.
  • Support the finance team and internal clients in ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Provide general accounting support including AP, AR, P&L, and the balance sheet.


You will bring to this position:

  • A passion for the non-profit, environmental mission of CET.
  • A college degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent experience required, with a minimum of 4 years of accounting experience. Invoicing experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and SharePoint is a plus.
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication skills needed with ability to work with stakeholders in the invoicing process across the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Work style should be flexible, self-directed, professional, hard-working, patient, and problem-solving. 
  • Excellent organizational, accuracy, and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail oriented with ability to follow and improve upon stepwise processes
  • High speed internet access and a working location free from distractions and interference during 8:30 am - 5:00 pm EST business hours. 


Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements:
Including but not limited to the following: Normal home office environment. Repetitive keyboarding movements and sitting 6-8 hours/day.
