Overview

VEIC’s Consumer Insights team answers some of the biggest clean energy questions and helps identify barriers getting in the way of the clean energy transition. The Consumer Insights Analyst will collaborate across departments to conduct a variety of market research that supports the goals of internal and external clients.

 

Location:

This is a remote position, and the ideal candidate will be located in the states where VEIC conducts business: CA, CT, DC, DE, HI, IL, MA, MD, ME, MI, MT, NJ, NY, PA, OH, RI, VA, VT, AND WI.

 

Compensation:

At VEIC, we are committed to pay transparency. The starting pay range for this position will be between $60,000-$70,000 annually. Based on market data, pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location. Please discuss your intended work location with the recruiter for more information. The total compensation package for this position also includes a full range of medical benefits, 403(b) eligibility with match, Combined Time Off (CTO), Care and Concern leave, Parental leave, wellbeing benefit, a community service day, and eight paid holidays that are effective as of your first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Research instrument development: Design survey instruments and interview/focus group guides that support project objectives.
  • Sample procurement and recruiting: Work with stakeholders or vendors as necessary to procure and clean sample frames and panels. Recruit and schedule respondents for interviews and focus groups.
  • Survey programming and management: Program online surveys using Qualtrics. Managing survey fielding, e.g., schedule distributions, respond to respondent inquiries, manage incentives, etc.
  • Survey analysis: Analyze survey data, for one-off custom projects and ongoing customer experience tracking studies.
  • Qualitative analysis: Conduct and analyze data from interviews, focus groups, and other qualitative research.
  • Reporting: Develop reports (slide decks, written reports, online dashboards) that communicate clearly, directly address client needs, and adhere to formatting guidelines.
  • Collaborative work: Support the business objectives of non-research colleagues and external clients as part of a small research team. Champion insights and the voice of our customer throughout the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
  • 3-5 years of experience in market research or a related business area. Energy industry experience a plus.
  • A. or B.S. in a related field preferred.
  • Experience designing survey instruments and/or interview guides.
  • Proficient with basic data analysis, preferably both qualitative and quantitative (e.g., data cleaning, crosstabulations), including basic statistical tests.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills. Proficient in translating raw data to insights that are relevant to clients. Familiarity with data visualization best practices a plus.
  • Experience programming online surveys in Qualtrics or a similar platform a plus.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization software (e.g., Qualtrics reports, Displayr, Power BI, R, etc.) a plus.
  • Familiarity with behavioral science concepts a plus.
