Warehouse Team Leader

Location: Skelmersdale

We are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to support the Operations Manager in ensuring the efficient running of a dynamic warehouse environment. The Warehouse Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing warehouse operatives and ensuring that company targets and objectives are achieved to meet customer demands. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all employees adhere to health and safety protocols and follow standard operating procedures. Additionally, the Warehouse Team Leader will play a key role in maintaining cleanliness standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse.

Main Responsibilities:

RECEIVING

  • Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and supply of goods
  • Cross dock outstanding back orders, to avoid unnecessary, labour, transport, and packaging costs

LOCATING

  • Ensure efficient space utilisation of parts when locating
  • Control and organise storage and inventory space in a safe and tidy manner
  • Coordinate plans to reduce stock loss/damage and achieve better control measures
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels/accuracy, report stock discrepancies

PICKING

  • Ensure priority pick processes are followed and adhered to support dispatch time windows
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels/accuracy, report stock discrepancies

PACKING

  • Good understanding of customer/destination requirements and the impact of failure/cost of poor-quality packaging of parts
  • Implement packing process improvement initiative as directed by management

DISPATCH

UK DISPATCH

  • Ability to time manage the scheduling of outbound deliveries and liaise with transport companies upon collection and loading of vehicles
  • Investigate discrepancies, ensure that packing specifications are correct and provide feedback on reported damages to management team

ALL

  • To abide by the Companies Policies, Procedures and Core Values
  • Effective labour planning, right people, right skills, right place, right time
  • Good IT systems knowledge and skills including Microsoft Office
  • Control of Forklift Truck management to ensure full operational capacity and to ensure check sheets are completed daily.
  • Manage housekeeping and hygiene standards in, indoor and outdoor work/welfare areas.
  • Timely completion of summary reporting to the relevant department as required
