Scope3 is the industry’s leading collaborative sustainability platform. By modeling the complex digital advertising supply chain, we help brands measure and dramatically reduce digital waste to reduce carbon emissions from advertising and increase the efficacy of advertising investment. We’re a reliably-funded company of 70 folks distributed across the globe. We are fortunate to be led by an experienced leadership team, many of whom designed and engineered the digital advertising landscape as we know it today. The company secured $20M in Series B funding led by GV in Oct 2023 (additional investors include Venrock, Rucker Park, Room40 Ventures, and Craft Ventures). Scope3 has significant market traction with more than 70+ customers and is experiencing accelerated growth.
Scope3 is a fully remote company and largely asynchronous to provide flexible working hours and to operate globally, with concentrations in New York and Europe. At this time, we are hiring in Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany, and the United States.
About the Role
As Business Development Director, you will be a leader in driving our growth trajectory within the European marketing landscape.
Reporting directly to the Head of UK and Northern Europe, you will forge and nurture senior-level relationships with some of the largest brands in the EU region, and develop and execute strategic initiatives that deliver mutual success. Your ability to navigate complex organisations, identify high-impact opportunities, and create innovative solutions will be essential as you drive brands’ efforts to decarbonising their marketing. We are looking to hire in London or Amsterdam for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the adoption of Scope3’s global solutions across large brands headquartered in Europe
- Deliver substantial revenue growth within the marketer segment
- Prospect, build and nurture strategic relationships with senior marketing executives, acting as their senior client partner within Scope3
- Develop and execute joint business plans with brands, focusing on shared goals in relation to decarbonization of their marketing
- Work with collaboratively with brands’ partners and agencies to harness their services and technology that leverage Scope3's collaborative sustainability platform
- Act as a representative of Scope3 at industry events and client engagements, championing our mission and products
- Due to the concentration of customers based in Amsterdam, some travel will be required
Experience:
- An inherent interest in sustainability and alignment with Scope3’s mission and corporate culture, contributing positively to our team dynamics and organisational ethos
- 7+ years of experience in digital advertising sales and partnerships, with a proven track record of delivering significant revenue growth across large brands
- Deep understanding of the digital advertising and marketing ecosystem and experience selling technology and solutions to global brands
- An established network of senior-level relationships with brands
- Strong strategic and creative analytical skills, with the ability to drive business growth through data-driven insights
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, effectively articulating Scope3's value and inspiring stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire, and develop diverse and high-performing teams
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across different functions, demonstrating a deep curiosity about global business dynamics and an aptitude for understanding regional and cultural nuances
- Agility and openness to the challenges of scaling a new business, with a comfortable approach to risk, uncertainty, and ambiguity
