SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking a Cash Specialist to join its Boston office. This position will report to the Director of Accounting and will be responsible for cash applications and transactions for the business. This individual will have the opportunity for future growth and development amongst a group of high achieving and fun professionals. We are seeking a driven, dedicated, and enthusiastic professional to join our dynamic team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the execution and performance of accounting and finance activities, including, but not limited to:

  • Cash applications: high volume data entry and accurately apply all incoming payments for all customer accounts from various sources including: live checks, credit cards, daily cash, and electronic payments
  • Accurately record outgoing payment activity across various bank accounts, as applicable
  • Identify and communicate discrepancies in payments to the collection department or customers
  • Research unidentified payments for proper posting
  • Responsible for processing credit card payments on account.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliation for main operating cash accounts.
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations for various operating subsidiaries
  • Prepare inter-company journal entries for consolidated invoice payments and other multiple-subsidiary cash transactions
  • Responsible for month-end closing activity including report generation and distribution.
  • Responsible for initiating unapplied payment and chargeback correspondence to customers.
  • Assist with mailing or emailing customer invoice copy request as required.
  • Provide quality, professional customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Provide internal support to the credit team by processing customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, assisting in resolving client discrepancies and short payments.
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounting or Accounts Receivable department.
  • Process credit memos and the appropriate reporting
  • Participate in team planning meetings
  • Meet defined department goals and activity metrics
  • Ad hoc projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, results-oriented and operate well in a collaborative, team environment. The ideal candidate should be prepared for increased responsibilities as they relate to the role and in a rapidly growing company.

  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Experience with accounting systems; NetSuite strongly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the accounting team, billing and collections team, treasury, and various departments across the organization.
  • Willing and able to adapt to a high energy, fast paced environment.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and efficient.
  • Robust organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and overall computer skills.
  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn and grow.
