Information Security Architect I 

The Information Security Architect I will assist in designing and implementing security systems that protect an organization's information and technology assets. This role is responsible for ensuring that all security measures comply with industry regulations, internal policies, and best practices. The individual will work closely with other IT teams to integrate security into systems, processes, and technologies.

  • Collaborate with senior architects to design, implement, and maintain security architecture aligned with organizational goals.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting appropriate security technologies, tools, and solutions.
  • Perform basic risk assessments on IT infrastructure and applications to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations.
  • Provide support in integrating security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption solutions.
  • Ensure that security measures adhere to compliance standards such as ISO 27001, TISAX, and others.
  • Maintain documentation of security architecture and configurations, ensuring accurate records of systems and solutions in use
  • Collaborate with incident response teams to assist in identifying, investigating, and mitigating security incidents.
  • Promote awareness of security best practices within the organization through training and communications
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats and trends, contributing ideas for continuous improvement in security architecture and protocols
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience/Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of encryption methods, authentication mechanisms, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Understanding of security architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA, or others
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating security tasks.
  • Capable of identifying security challenges and recommending effective solutions.
  • Works well with cross-functional teams to support broader IT and business objectives.
  • Basic understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with security technologies (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, SIEMs, IDS/IPS).
  • Skill in communicating information and issues to non-technical personnel.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing tasks and information.

 

Personal Protective Equipment 

PPE will be provided and is required to be used within certain areas of the manufacturing floor.

Work Environment

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to chemicals used to run/maintain machines.
