POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality team in North America. In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the quality of all incoming parts at the manufacturing facility, working closely with suppliers chosen by Alexander Dennis (ADI). Your primary focus will be to uphold the high-quality standards expected in our products, maintaining a documented and controlled process that aligns with ADI’s core Vision & Values.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in manufacturing quality standards, who is passionate about continuous improvement and committed to fostering an environment of safety and excellence. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading manufacturer in the bus industry, where you’ll work to enhance quality processes, support production teams, and deliver impactful results that drive both personal and professional growth.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Follow agreed quality control process.
  • Ensure all suppliers defects are recorded.
  • Maintain updates of information about incoming parts on quality control process communication (white) boards.
  • In conjunction with Big Rig Manufacturing (BRM) develop a robust process for the management of defective material.
  • To fully understand the quality standard required for incoming parts.
  • To understand the build plan and ensure that good quality material is available for build.
  • To work with production to ensure operatives understand the quality standards required of incoming parts.
  • To train, educate & guide operators where quality standards of incoming parts are not met, and how to deal with them.
  • Analyze data, develop & implement incoming parts improvement processes.
  • Achieve personal KPI’s set to measure the quality of incoming parts.
  • Promote a 5S culture and assist maintain safe working environment for yourself and other employees.
  • Demonstrate pride & passion in delivering ADI/BRM product to customers.
  • Required to work outside of core hours as required to meet build program/customer deliveries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Previous experience with Coach, Bus, or heavy automotive manufacturing.
  • Proven record in delivering quality product.
  • Proven record of dealing with supplier quality issues.
  • Demonstrated experience of managing supplier quality issues in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of quality standards and care points.
  • Proven effective planning, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings/blueprints.
  • Comfortable using computers, including Microsoft suite or other systems.
