Job Description

SEI is partnering with a diverse group of organizations to develop an Oregon Climate Equity Project (Project) to help diversify the climate movement in the State and strengthen BIPOC leadership in climate policy advocacy and development. The Project seeks to help achieve these goals through the work of Climate Corps Fellows placed with key nonprofit and public sector organizations throughout the State.

The Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon (APANO) unites Asians and Pacific Islanders to build power, develop leaders, and advance equity through organizing, advocacy, community development, and cultural work. The Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon (APANO) Fellow will work closely with the Advocacy Director and will be responsible for shaping APANO’s environmental justice strategy. This will include:

  • Organizing Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities around environmental justice, including youth leaders, through annual Cohort and Alumni support structures
  • Coordinating and monitoring coalition engagements around key policy/legislation relating to climate action through representing APANO at various environmental justice coalitions, events, and workgroups
  • Supporting member engagement and communications with Climate Health Housing Institute
  • Organizing the listening session series from Asian American and Pacific Islanders across Oregon to help determine Environmental Justice policy and program priorities for 2022-2023
