SUMMARY

The Customer Experience & Operations department is a growing organization with a vision to continuously enhance Nexamp’s customer-facing business processes. The Director, Utility Relationships will hold a pivotal role within our organization. The position will be responsible for building strong relationships with our utility partners across the entirety of Nexamp’s community solar commercial and residential customer base.

In this role the Director will be focused on deepening existing relationships with our utility partners, as well as building new relationships as we enter new markets. The goal of the Director will be to advocate for the needs of Nexamp’s customers, ensuring that we are aligned with our utility partners in delivering an industry-leading customer experience. In addition to partnering with utilities, this role will work closely with Nexamp’s public policy team to represent the “voice of the customer” on various regulatory working groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with utilities in all of Nexamp’s existing markets.
  • Successfully advocating for processes that continuously enhance Nexamp’s overall customer experience
  • Driving process optimization with our utility partners by proactively identifying gaps in the customer experience (lack of utility data to bill, misapplied solar credits, etc.) and looking for opportunities to enhance the experience for both Nexamp and our utility partners.
  • Ensuring that the there are robust quality monitoring programs in place to deliver an industry leading customer experience.
  • Acting as a customer advocate across each step of the value chain with our utility partners, ensuring that the appropriate KPIs, policies and programs are in place.
  • Developing a process for onboarding and partnering with utilities as Nexamp enters new markets.
  • Partnering with the Nexamp policy team to represent the “voice of the customer” on various regulatory working groups.
  • Leading a small team, coaching and developing talent, and focusing on ongoing professional development while enabling Nexamp’s core leadership capabilities across the team.
  • Motivating and inspiring employees to do their best work by creating an inclusive and innovative culture where each individual feels valued and thrives.
  • Integrating and interpreting data from diverse sources to drive decision making and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Working with leadership across Nexamp to identify opportunities for process improvement and leverage data to prioritize the identified opportunities.
  • Communicating effectively – both verbally and in writing – across the organization.
  • Addressing ad hoc issues impacting the customer experience with speed and urgency, working with internal teams to drive positive outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in policy advocacy and/or relationship management
  • Prior experience with strategic relationship management
  • Previous experience within public policy, or within a utility
  • Familiarity with renewable energy and distributed generation
  • Ability to make decisions based on insights and data
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in terms of being clear, concise, and professional with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Willing and able to adapt to a high energy, fast paced environment
