CET is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable individual located in Rhode Island to join our team as a Waste Reduction Consultant! In this exciting role, you will help businesses reduce costs and improve environmental performance by implementing waste management programs such as recycling, reuse, food recovery, and composting. You will educate business representatives and motivate them to implement recommendations to divert waste from disposal. This position is remote and requires you to travel throughout the New England region to perform field work. 


In this fulfilling career opportunity in the field of waste reduction, you will:

  • Conduct assessments of customer location(s) virtually and/or in person and develop recommendations.
  • Calculate the tonnage of waste diversion and related cost savings as applicable.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers to field questions and ensure project success.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with customers and industry partners for future opportunities. Build and maintain relationships with relevant contacts throughout the waste diversion marketplace.
  • Manage numerous projects simultaneously. Remain up to date on the progress of all projects and deliverables. Track and record project information and data in appropriate platforms.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of technologies, marketplace conditions, and strategies that may be beneficial to customers in improving the waste diversion programs at their facility.
  • Deliver presentations at workshops and conferences virtually and in person as needed.
  • Provide input and feedback on technical content for resources.


You will bring the following skills and experience to this position:


  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a field related to waste diversion, with 1-3 years of commercial experience.
  • Experience with selling technical services preferred, with the ability to close on projects.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make skillful presentations and connect with diverse audiences. Ability to speak a second language is helpful.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work with multiple programs and deliverables.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to track and report results.
  • Work style should be flexible, reliable, self-directed, an excellent listener, and have a strong work ethic.
  • You must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
  • Remote employees must have high-speed internet access and a working location free from distractions and interference during business hours.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

Must have a remote office set up with reliable high-speed internet free from distractions and interruptions. Daily requirements may include, but are not limited to the following: Environment: Home office environment. Physical Demands: Walking, sitting, standing, keying, and repetitive movements. Equipment Used: Computer, cell phone, and office equipment.

Compensation and Benefits:


At CET, we are committed to transparency and equity in our compensation practices. The compensation range in the job posting reflects the range of pay available for this role. Individual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.

This is a full-time exempt position. You may work remotely or may work out of our office in Northampton, Massachusetts. CET will provide you with a laptop and other office technology.
