Position Summary:

The Career Services Specialist is the primary point of contact regarding job availability and placement for students during class and post graduation. The person who serves in this position is responsible for maintaining all placement and completion rate documentation for ARI in conjunction with our accreditation and approving bodies. In addition, Career Services Specialists create, foster, and maintain positive relationships with industry partners to assist placement of ARI graduates.


Essential Functions:

The essential functions of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct resume and interview workshops in the classroom.
  • Review and update student resumes to meet hiring company criteria and needs. 
  • Assist students in ensuring they are prepared for successful outcomes in their job search with networking, phone skills, interview preparation and other job search processes.
  • Coordinate/facilitate in-person or web-based employer briefing opportunities.  
  • Distribute Placement Verification Forms to students on last day of training and communicate the importance of their return. 
  • Collect placement information from students and/or employers, including verification of 30-day employment for ACCET and 35-day employment for BPPE information, utilizing the Placement Verification Form to include all data needed to be in compliance with governing bodies.
  • Input student placement data in the electronic student record system (QuickBase).
  • Create and maintain the ACCET form 28.1.
  • Ensure all Placement Verification Forms are filed in the student academic files and in the electronic student record. 
  • Prepare and maintain reports to keep management abreast of current and ongoing placement rates.
  • Provide required data to complete the BPPE yearly performance fact sheet (CA campuses only).  
  • Report student success stories.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Follow all ARI policies and procedures.

Requirements

Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • Presents a positive and professional image
  • Resume writing/reviewing experience
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills in verbal and/or written format 
  • Proficient in QuickBase and the Microsoft Office suite 
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Team oriented
  • Ability to make professional, appropriate decisions independently, with minimal supervision
  • Aptitude in problem solving and conflict management 
  • Experience working with diverse groups
  • Professional presentation skills
  • Ability to travel as needed to achieve ARI goals and objectives

Education and Certification Requirements:

  1. Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Required: Legal ability to work in the United States.
  3. Required: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain a drug-free status.
