Summary/Primary Role:

The Business Development intern will be supporting our Public Sector Business Development team focused on clean energy technology opportunities. They will directly support the Director of BD and Senior BD Analysts, who are responsible for client-facing sales activities, focusing on team growth and clean energy and sustainability opportunities. Additionally, the intern will support Brightcore Energy’s market reach and opportunity pipeline for project management and contracting of all new LED Lighting & Controls, Solar Plus Storage, and Geothermal projects across the northeast in the public sector and other targeted industry verticals. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research and analysis of targeted potential renewable energy clients including client specific sustainability goal research, federal and state incentive programs, feasibility analysis, etc. to prepare for client facing meetings. 
  • Coordination with geothermal development and drilling team daily on outstanding proposals and information needed by the Public Sector - BD team. 
  • Coordination with LED Lighting & Controls team on direct install program proposals and information needed by the Public Sector - BD team. 
  • Coordination with the Solar Plus Storage team and information needed by the Public Sector – BD team. 
  • Tracking and reporting in CRM system regarding Geothermal projects and projects for new clients. 
  • Collaborate with Account Management and Marketing on outreach efforts for new clean energy technology clients. 
  • Provide additional day-to-day administrative support to the Director of Business BD and Senior BD Analysts on project cycle management. 
  • Provide support to Director BD and Senior BD Analysts on business plan management, updates, and report outs, including key performance measures.  
  • Provide research and updates to the Public Sector - BD team to include market competition, market trends, new clean energy technologies, and regulatory changes both at the local and federal level. 
  • All other duties and projects assigned by the SVP Strategic Partnerships. 

Qualifications:

  • Must reside in the State of NY.
  • Must be a rising Senior with a strong academic record at a NY State university or college. 
  • Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Communications and/or Environmental Sciences or a related field with a GPA of 3.50 or above. 
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and research. 
  • Self-motivated and excited to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Superior work ethic and attention to detail. 

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Expected Hours of Work: 

An Intern must work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week to maintain full-time status, however the expectations of the position will require an average of forty (40) hours as scheduled for an 8-week internship program beginning in June 2025. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining an employee’s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity). The hourly rate for this position is $17/hr.

Office/Remote Work Guidelines:

Recognizing the success of remote work, Brightcore operates in a hybrid model. Eligible employees will have the option to work remotely for two (2) days per week at their discretion, with final approval by their direct supervisor. This policy is subject to change at Brightcore's discretion.
