Reports to: Onboarding Delivery Manager 

Location: UK (Hybrid working)

As part of our company growth we are looking to appoint a Data Technician/Mapping Engineer to map our sites and build our models.  We spend our days dealing with energy data for some of the most interesting commercial building operators. You will be part of the team responsible for gathering and organising information about our customer sites. In this role, you鈥檒l support the team extracting and managing data to help build energy management products for our customers. The Onboarding Data Technician role is critical in the delivery of carbon and energy reductions for and by our customers, it enables Grid Edge to operate. 


This is a high-paced, reactive role where you will be exposed to a wide range of business and commercial customers. This would suit an enthusiastic and pragmatic individual, with a will to learn and understand challenging concepts, someone who loves to take initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced and varied environment. We have a start-up culture and are looking to appoint someone who is a self-starter with a can-do attitude and good attention to detail.


How you will track your success: 

  • Successful enablement of Grid Edge smart building solutions to time, cost and quality 
  • Customer Onboarding CSAT

What you will do (Key Accountabilities): 

  • Document the layout of buildings and energy infrastructure to provide a detailed map of the incoming data set that is tagged successfully to the standard Grid Edge standards. 
  • Maintaining best practice tagging, and ensuring the data collection is accurate and validate
  • Developing and maintaining the incoming data layer of the business
  • Ensure data collection and labelling and tagging frameworks have been implemented correctly.
  • Collaborate closely with other teams including Product Managers as well as with the wider technical team to ensure customer satisfaction. 


Key Skills and Experience: 

Essential 

  • Experience and/or deep knowledge of building physics, particularly in relation to HVAC systems, energy and comfort criteria. Understanding the Built Environment.
  • Experience with using CAD programmes.
  • IT literate in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • A methodical and organised approach. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Detail oriented 
  • Able to size problems, communicate them really clearly and help prioritise. 
  • Self-motivated, with a strong desire to succeed 
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, and work effectively under the pressure of time constraints in a fast-paced, collaborative environment 
  • Awesome team member. You know how to engage the relevant people to solve for problems and inspire people to take action


Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of data modelling (Class Library) and industry standard data handover specifications (e.g. CFIHOS, BIM)
  • Experience in structuring data outputs 
  • Experience in facilities, building management or civil engineering (with buildings) 
  • An interest or experience in the energy sector 
  • Good general business acumen and commercial awareness 
  • Experience communicating to different personality types, scenarios and managing high pressure scenarios. 
  • A passion for technology and AI/ML and automation 
  • Innovative and take risks to create new processes and create efficiencies 
  • Comfortable in giving and receiving constructive feedback 
  • Comfortable working in a startup-like environment
  • Strong mathematics/physics/computer science background 
  • Driving licence
