Key Responsibilities:

• Critically evaluate, develop and implement refinements to risk models for investment portfolio including reporting packages for management to review investment model outputs, sensitivities and results.

• Monitoring and reviewing investment, credit and market risk in the investment portfolio working closely with the Investment, Risk and Legal teams.

• Preparing reporting outputs and analysis on credit and market risk and presenting results to senior management on a regular basis

• Review transactions that are presented to the Investment Committee and provide an overview of investments risks and mitigants.

• Continually challenge and ensure investment risk profile stays within agreed risk appetite through the establishment, review and monitoring of risk limits.

• Partner with Brookfield’s Technology Services Group for model implementation and production.

• Analyze and provide insight into market trends and investment updates.

• Assist the broader Risk function in ad hoc projects and analysis.

Requirements:

• 7-10 years’ experience in an investment risk, financial market risk or asset management role

• Prior insurance company experience preferred

• Deep understanding of credit products, securitization and illiquid assets

• Strong analytical/quantitative background including experience with building investment risk models

• Hands-on experience with fixed-income analytics and data manipulation (Python, SQL)

• Knowledge of econometric and/or stochastic modeling a plus

• Strong communication and presentation skills with great attention to detail

• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative fields, Finance/Econ, Math/Stat, Science or Engineering

• Advanced Degree preferred.

• Proactive, energetic, flexible and resourceful

• Ability to represent Brookfield within the business community

• Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced and team-oriented environment

Salary Range: $175,000 - $190,000

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education, and designations
