FP&A Leader

The FP&A Leader will play a pivotal role in driving change during a transformative phase of the business, ensuring financial excellence, and contributing to the company’s organizational growth. The FP&A Leader is responsible for leading the forecasting process and delivering a broad range of analytics to support the forecast – from Revenue and costs to Working Capital and Cash metrics. The FP&A Leader will have the primary responsibility for developing the annual budget, and executing a rolling 18 month forecast by month and quarter, gathering inputs from key business leaders and providing stakeholders with key financial information needed for decision making purposes. The FP&A Leader will also be responsible for managing the financial modeling and reporting for the Dept of Energy loan requirements. The FP&A Leader will also be able to expand the team as the business grows and will work cross-functionally with key analytical resources in Ops and Supply Chain.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize the current forecasting process, as well as financial models, contributing to a streamlined operational framework.
  • Execute the quarterly forecasting process, providing variance analyses vs. Budget and prior year.
  • Provide timely, complete, and accurate dissemination of financial outlook to the Leadership Team, the BOD, and the DOE.
  • Own and lead long-term financial planning, annual operating plan, and budgeting processes, while driving the development and monitoring of company-wide financial KPIs to ensure alignment with growth and profitability targets
  • Lead the preparation for IPO readiness, including developing comprehensive financial reports, forecasts, and strategic plans that meet regulatory requirements and investor expectations. 
  • Cultivate productive relationships and establish a regular rhythm of communication with cross-functional leaders
  • Partner with the Controller to execute the monthly close process, providing insights of the actuals against the most recent forecast.
  • Provide expertise on cost-benefit analysis, variance analysis, and develop standard templates that can be used across functions.
  • Lead the way in embracing continued process improvements and automations, scaling our operations for future growth.
  • Provide guidance and support to other departments regarding financial matters, including budgeting, cost control, and financial projections.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or similar required.
  • 10+ years of finance experience, including at least one prior role at FP&A Leader level
  • Manufacturing industry experience required.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
  • Management experience, including developing and mentoring a growing team of employees at a variety of levels.

  • Syspro ERP system preferred.

Working Conditions/Hours

Full-time/Salaried

  • Able/willing to travel and work as needed.
  • Available/willing to work overtime to meet project commitments as required.

Work Environment – Office

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and exposure to hazardous materials used in the manufacturing process.

Physical Demands – Office

This position requires the ability to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate keys on a keyboard.
