Production Technician Team Leader

Overview

Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate Production Technician Team Leader to join our powertrain and electronics team and help build flight-critical components for our EVTOL electric aircraft. Responsibilities

As Production Technician Team Leader, you will enable a team of production technicians to achieve daily goals for safety, quality, and quantity. The ideal candidate must have experience in a manufacturing environment with the ability to quickly adapt to changing work requirements and strong communication skills to resolve issues with cross-functional teams including production leadership, quality, engineering and inventory. The roles and responsibilities will include:   

• Maintaining a safe work environment  

• Leading daily team and cross-functional meetings  

• Accurate reporting of downtime events to production leadership and cross-functional teams 

• Allocating people resources efficiently and effectively to achieve the weekly build plan 

• Resolving issues, often with cross-functional teams and escalating when appropriate  

• Developing an in-depth understanding of processes in the assigned area  

• Be hands on; build, troubleshoot, and rework with engineering and production technicians 

Required

• HS diploma or GED equivalent 

• Work Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 6pm 

• Flexibility to adapt to and allocate resources to changing work assignments  

• Ability to think strategically and prioritize work assignments to meet goals  

• Strong verbal and written communication skills 

• Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing or equivalent 

• Detail and quality oriented 

• Basic computing skills 

• Ability to lift 25-30lbs 

Desired

• 2+ years of experience leading teams of people in a production and/or R&D environment  

• Previous experience as an NPI, engineering or production/manufacturing technician   

• Experience in a fast-paced environment   

• Proficient with MS Office 

• Familiarity with a manufacturing execution system (MES) 

• Experience in high pressure production environments  

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $35-$47/hr. per hour. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
