Senior Manager FP&A, Finance

Blumont Annuity Company UK (BAC UK) is a life insurance company with a primary focus on the pension risk transfer market in which buy-out and buy-in bulk purchase annuity policies are sold to defined benefit pension schemes in the UK.

BAC UK is hiring a Senior Manager, Finance to lead the development of the company’s finance function. This role will report to the CFO.
Responsibilities
Start-up phase
Design and implement BAC UK’s finance processes and tools including development/ documentation of all processes, procedures and controls ensuring compliance with regulations
Develop accounts for both USGAAP, UK GAAP and UK statutory reporting
Develop Solvency UK reporting framework, processes and tools
Business as usual
Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of local and BWS financial reporting including, UK GAAP, US GAAP and Solvency UK
Provide financial and liquidity projections on various reporting bases, including the development of future new business assumptions
Lead the annual Business Plan process and carry out quarterly reviews of the Plan to ensure it remains appropriate
Assess financial impacts of writing new transactions, including the, required capital and profitability under the measurement bases used
Report to the Audit Committee and Board on the financial standing of the business
Report to the Senior Management Committee monthly on the performance of the business relative to the Business Plan
Work with external auditors to achieve timely audits
Work closely and collaboratively with the wider BWS team
Required Experience
Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA), preferably with Big 4 or insurance sector experience and knowledge of bulk annuities
2-5 years PQE of direct financial services-related experience required
Experience of PRA and FCA regulations preferable
Required Skills
Highly competent in the fundamentals of accounting
Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multi-task, prioritize deliverables, and work well under pressure and deadlines
