We’re looking for…
A versatile, creative leader to grow a new business segment within our organization focusing on insights, research, and data for building product manufacturers (BPMs). This person should have skills in business development, product leadership, and account management with experience building out new businesses or product lines.
Requirements
Experience and knowledge in the building product manufacturing and new home construction industry. Candidate should be able to think like a BPM, understand how they operate, their org chart and how they make decisions
Candidate should be able to think in the mindset of problem statements and MVPs.
Must be capable of leading product discovery initiatives and sales, and operating throughout that spectrum. This is different from a traditional sales leadership role, as there is an equal emphasis on product innovation and business development. Candidate should have a experience grooming products from pre-revenue phases all the way to maturity
Strong intuition around problem solving and value propositions
Experience in customer account management, business development, and product innovation.
Candidates must be highly motivated and proactive business leaders who thrive in an independent work environment that aligns with our mission, vision and values.
Responsibilities:
Developing a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and how Ekotrope can effectively serve those needs.
Working internally to define, build and refine products and services that meet those needs.
Responsible for growth of Ekotrope’s data services business segment focused on the building product manufacturing industry, including:
Partnering with C-level executives on product strategy and roadmap.
Achieving bookings and sales targets. This includes working at all levels of the sales/marketing funnel from prospecting to deal closing.
Grooming marquee accounts as we explore needs and test high value offerings.
Converting engaged prospects to paying clients and growing those accounts over time.
Bonus Requirements:
Candidates should be creative, ambitious, and able to work well without micro-structure (OKR-style management)
Technical / analytical skills to be able to understand data, analytics, how it can be used and packaged, etc.
A network in the building product manufacturing and new home construction industry.
Understanding of software as a service / data businesses - including solutions, business models, etc.
Compensation
Combination of Salary and Stock Options commensurate with skills and experience.

We have a fully flexible work environment where employees can work remotely or at our office in Downtown Boston, steps from South Station (or a hybrid of both!).
About Us
We run the most widely used Home Energy Rating Software which is used on about 1 in 4 of new homes built in the US each year. Our clients for this product are home energy raters who work with home builders to help design more energy efficient homes and then inspect and certify those homes. We also help utilities run their energy efficiency programs more effectively and are actively exploring new areas where we can grow our impact and business.
