Job Description

We’re making zero carbon happen

We’re OVO Group, a big family of companies united by a single vision: to get to zero carbon, fast.

We call this Plan Zero – and it shows how we’ll be fighting the climate crisis and transforming the way people use energy over the next decade. To do this, we need the sharpest minds. Are you up for the challenge?

Do great green things with OVO Energy

So much has changed since we launched in 2009. Our goal remains the same though: make energy cheaper, greener, and simpler. Just as it was on day one.

Everyone belongs at OVO

Our aim is to build a diverse and inclusive movement: teams of brilliant people, with unique talents, skills, passions, and experiences.

We encourage everyone to join us, whatever your gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, life experience, or background. So please come as you are – we can’t wait to meet you.

Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

As Continuous Improvement Manager within the People Team, you’ll be working across the team to lead a review of all our end to end processes and create a plan to simplify every process whilst putting our employees experience at the heart of everything we do.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the People Services, Talent Acquisition and People Operations team. In addition, you will be working with departments across the business to support improving our employees' experience whilst also leading on resetting how we use Workday.

What will I be doing?

  • To map all the end to end processes across the People Services team and also to identify where the team interfaces with teams across the wider business.
  • Develop a roadmap for change initially focussing on the starters, leavers, payroll and benefits processes with the aim of ruthlessly simplifying the processes whilst also driving and improving the employee experience
  • Manage a small team to project manage and lead process improvement through employing process improvement methodologies and being able to be creative in your solutions
  • To work with key business stakeholders, and ‘LEAN champions’, to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing programme of change
  • To lead and facilitate LEAN/process improvement based workshops to drive ideas and solutions
  • To support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within our processes and identification of better ways of working
  • To take ownership of change initiatives from identification through to project delivery
  • For each process that has been improved, develop a launch plan ensuring everyone is clear on their new accountabilities
  • Whilst leading the process ensure key stakeholders are kept advised on progress and key changes that impact them and their teams
  • To actively supervise project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance
  • To ensure the business impact and project objectives/dependencies are continuously identified, reported on and managed
  • To complete post implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future projects
Key Targets/Measures of success
  • Roadmap for change has been developed
  • Workday improvements have been scoped and built into business plan
  • Core processes have been mapped
  • Clear accountability for specific processes improvement
  • New Starter, in-life and Leaver satisfaction rate
