Job Description

SEI is seeking an Associate Project Coordinator to support SEI and our sustainability-focused education programs. This is a full-time position, with a flexible schedule of 3 days per week work from home and the remaining days in our main office in San Rafael, CA. 

 

IMPACT

In this position, you will play an integral role across our organization, supporting our leadership team with Energize Schools programming, including teacher outreach and recruitment, curriculum development, teacher support including instructional planning, co-instruction, direct instruction, teacher training, event coordination and support, program tracking and reporting, assessment development and administration.  To get a glimpse of the program you’ll be working on check out Energize Schools!

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Receive a competitive starting salary of $30 per hour plus company-paid health insurance, sick time, vacation time, 14 paid holidays per year, in-house dental/vision/chiropractic plan, participation in a 403(b) Retirement Plan (with matching after one year), a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week work from home, and additional scheduling accommodations available.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct outreach to recruit teachers and district partners to participate in Energize Schools programs.
  • Support instructional planning, direct instruction, and co-instruction with teacher and school partners.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement Energize Schools events including Green Career Webinars, Energy Competitions, and Earth Day contests.
  • Plan, lead, and implement teacher trainings on sustainability curriculum projects.
  • Maintain, improve, develop, and customize curriculum and supplemental resources.
  • Teach and mentor students working on climate protection projects through training, curriculum development, and instruction in schools.
  • Track, report, and document supportive services provided through program work.
  • Your work will include periodic travel and field support and may require flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work. 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in roles related to this position
  • Two or more years experience in education, working with students of all levels, bonus for a focus or specialty in sustainability, climate change, or other green energy topics.
  • Genuine commitment to anti-racism and willingness to work in racial equity frameworks and experience in addressing racism and racial equity with team members and programmatically.
  • Access to reliable transportation for work-related commitments.
  • Deep understanding of sustainability, climate change, energy conservation, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green infrastructure, & building science concepts and topics.
  • Experience in the education sector with traditional or non-traditional teaching and curriculum design
  • Basic understanding of the inner workings of nonprofits & educational institutions
  • Demonstrated mastery in project management & work organization
  • Track record of proactively expanding your role, responsibilities, & associated outcomes
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to self-manage and reliably meet multiple, concurrent deadlines
  • Ability to work under direct supervision, collaboratively in teams, or independently

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experiencing training teachers in various topics, bonus for sustainability subject matter
  • Comfort and expertise in fluently writing instructions and directly teaching in Spanish

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

SEI requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with exceptions made for health and/or religious reasons upon discussion with our People Resources Department. This position requires applicants to perform the following tasks: Read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason and analyze, use fine finger movements, use a computer and mouse, sit, stand, walk, drive a motorized vehicle, carry and/or lift up to 40 pounds, reach above shoulder level, bend, squat, crouch, kneel, push/pull, grasp.
