LIMS Engineer

About YouYou are an experienced engineer in LIMS, or data system. You create the data pipeline and integrate the platform experimental data with standardized processes to drive decision making in both the wet and dry lab. You can leverage your workflow skills to streamline laboratory experimental design. Working with automation robots, you can also apply your software engineering experience to build tools and platforms for scientific exploration. You have great communication skills and can present complex LIMS and data concepts to multiple audiences.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and maintenance of LIMS policies, procedures, and performance measurements to standardize and streamline laboratory data management
• Integrate internal and external data sources to facilitate the identification of functional food traits
• Integrate bioinformatics tools to support protein annotations for use in machine learning applications
• Work closely with data scientists, LIMS administrator, laboratory scientists to turn experimental data into actionable knowledge
• Partner with external vendors and internal Project Manager to manage the project implementation
• Collaborate with software and machine learning engineers to translate R&D analyses to production workflows, as well as with vendor(s) to facilitate installation, maintenance, and system upgrades of the LIMS
• Create pipelines for the dashboards and visualizations to share and communicate experimental data analyses to cross functional teams

Attributes and Requirements

• You write clean, modular, and maintainable code
• You are a self-starter, comfortable taking initiative and prototyping concepts to support teams innovation
• You take pride in doing meaningful work and strive to be part of a business dedicated to having a positive impact on the planet
• 1+ Year of experience working with Benchling’s API or SDK
• 3+ years of experience working across highly cross functional teams
• Expertise in Python and working with large datasets in Pandas/Jupyter
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
