We are looking for a creative Senior Scientist to join the Flavor Research Team. Our goal is to discover, understand, and deliver incredible flavor experiences! You are excited about taking creative research approaches to understand and design flavor technologies with a demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding research.
As a team we will improve flavor technologies and bring improved next-generation plant based products to market! You will bring experience in flavor chemistry, food science, sensory and perceptual research, biochemistry, or analytical chemistry, but driven and curious scientists from related fields will be considered as well.

You Will:

  • Lead efforts to understand molecular drivers of flavor in complex foods and ingredients via biochemical fractionation and other flavor research approaches.
  • Design and analyze experimentation in a highly dimensional space.
  • Interpret analytical and perceptual data to understand flavor outcomes of materials and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with our Sensory, Formulation, and Analytical Chemistry teams to improve technologies and formulations.
  • Summarize findings, author technical documents, and present findings to the team and organization.
  • Mentor early career Scientists and may act as a people manager.

You Have:

  • Masters or PhD degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other analytically oriented field with experience in researching biologically active molecules.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform this role.
  • Experience developing complex sample preparation workflows for analytical characterization, especially food flavor, is highly desirable.
  • Curiosity about understanding chemical mechanisms that drive success in products.
  • Applied experience in sensory and perceptual research is a plus.
  • Applied experience in multivariate statistics and experimental design is highly desirable.
  • Experience in quantitative analytical chemistry is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, statistical, scientific computing, data visualization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion in actively learning and teaching others, previous management experience is a plus.
