Job Description

About Us

The way we heat/cool our homes, power our vehicles, and cook our meals is antiquated: we take for granted that we use fossil fuels in homes to keep them comfortable and healthy.  There is a better way.

Elephant Energy is a venture-funded business, building a next generation home comfort & electrification platform that helps homeowners get clean, safe, and affordable technologies for their homes and vehicles.  We are growing quickly, supported by the ever increasing demand from customers for more comfortable homes.  This is an exciting opportunity to join at the ground floor and shape how we sell and deploy home comfort and home electrification.

The Chief of Staff role is meant to be a super fun, dynamic role where you’ll be wearing many hats as the right hand to the executive team.  From day one, you will have an immediate impact on our productivity, streamlining strategic initiatives, integrating work streams across teams, and leading special projects. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a business management role, with an aptitude for getting things done, working creatively to solve problems, and communicating effectively across teams. This is meant as a 1-2 year position during which you become intimately familiar with Elephant Energy - and then move into a senior role within the company helping run one of our teams.

Role

  • Help move the organization forward by overseeing strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership.
  • Assist and communicate with the team in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation. Communicate the vision, ideas, projects, and processes. This includes creating content, providing context, and helping connect the dots across all teams to create opportunities and growth.
  • Review, design, and execute on improvements to org structure, find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them.
  • Improve current processes and coordinate playbooks to optimize for efficiency and productivity.
  • Hold the team accountable to our values, our vision, and our deadlines.
  • Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, handling the oversight of projects that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or that fall between areas of responsibility.
  • Act as an extension of the leadership team and funnel, filter, and facilitate information flows with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a thought partner and strategic advisor to the leadership team, standing in on meetings, challenging ideas and offering a different perspective, and following up on action items with the team accordingly.
  • Provide analysis, recommendations, and options to the leadership team regarding high impact decisions

Requirements

  • 2-5 years experience in consulting or similar.
  • A business generalist - capable of handling a wide range of situations and conversations, including building cross-functional relationships, creative problem solving, deploying a standard business analytics toolkit, leading internal initiatives, and communicating effectively in written and verbal forms.
  • You’re passionate about changing the world via home comfort and clean, energy-efficient technology.
  • You’re a builder, a go-getter, a genuine self-starter; you get stuff done and promptly.
  • You’re outgoing, warm, and feel confident chatting with new people.
  • You’re a fast learner who holds yourself to high expectations (and meets them).
  • You know a little about a lot - Energy, Business, Finance, Operations, etc.
  • You appreciate the importance of giving and receiving thoughtful feedback.
  • You can deal with and manage significant levels of ambiguity, appropriate to our startup realities.
  • You have a commitment to building a diverse, equitable workplace and seek to make our company more inclusive.

Benefits/Perks:

  • Ground floor opportunity with high growth potential
  • Generous benefits package including Health Care and 401K
  • Stock / Equity options
  • Paid Sick and Vacation time (PTO) / Open vacation policy
  • Remote work
  • Start Up environment
  • People driven culture

Compensation:

  • Pay commensurate with experience
  • $80 - 125k
